The summer sun has finally arrived here in Minnesota and that makes perfect weather for a camping trip! Today we have a fun, easy and inexpensive activity for kids to do while they are out camping at a backyard campout or just as a fun activity around the neighborhood.
What better way to keep your kids active and engaged while you are camping than to give them a Camping Scavenger Hunt to work on. They can look for everything on the list and cross it out as they find it. With everything from flashlight to bugs, there are lots of things to go on the hunt for while you are camping.
We have included 12 things on the scavenger hunt to search for and included photos for little ones who can’t read yet, making it easy for anyone to get involved and participate in the camping scavenger hunt activity.
How to use the Camping Scavenger Hunt
Step 1 – Print out our Camping Scavenger Hunt for yourself.
Step 2 – If you would like to use your Camping Scavenger Hunt multiple times you can laminate it and use dry erase markers with it.
Step 3 – Attach it to a clip board and let your kids have a blast looking for all the camping items on the list.
If the kids are old enough to use a camera, you could have them take photos of the items that they find. My kids love doing this when they are working on scavenger hunts. Be sure to instruct your children not to pick up bugs or any type of nature that could be dangerous or poisonous.
What types of things do you do on camping trips to have fun and create memories with your kids?
