My mom has always been a great cook, and it’s kind of funny that one my favorite comfort foods is actually a super easy recipe, and it’s really frugal too!

When I make this tuna casserole, there is probably more cheese on it than anything else.
When it comes hot out from the oven, it’s oozing with delicious cheesiness!
Now back to why this tuna noodle casserole recipe is SO awesome!
This is really one of the only ways that I will eat tuna from the can, but there’s just something about the creaming, cheesy casserole that just puts a smile on my face every time.
You might see some tuna noodle casseroles that use peas, but my recipes are tuna noodle casserole with corn. The corn gives it a little bit of a sweet crunch, in a sea of creamy, cheesy goodness. It’s sure to make your tummy and your family happy.
Now that I’ve been out of on my own for quite some time, this is now my family’s favorite comfort food. We make sure to have the ingredients for tuna noodle casserole with corn in our house at all times.
How to Make Tuna Noodle Casserole with Cheese: FAQs
Can I use other vegetables in my casserole? Of course you can! Most people make tuna casserole with peas! If you are feeling crazy, add some carrots or go really wild and add all 3 vegetables.
Is this recipe gluten free? As it is, this is not a gluten free tuna noodle casserole recipe, but you can make the following substitutions to make it gluten free
Just change those 2 things, and you’ve made a gluten free tuna casserole!
Can I use a meat other than tuna? The great thing about this easy dinner idea is there are SO many ways you can switch ingredients out and make a whole new dish. Canned salmon or canned chicken would work well in this recipe too!
Can I freeze this tuna casserole recipe? You sure can. If you make the recipe just like you normally would, just don’t pop it in the oven. Top it with all the cheese your heart desires, and then put it in the freezer. When you are ready to eat it, pop it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 350 or until the casserole is hot and bubbly.

- Large Pasta Pot with Strainer
- Spatula
- 13×9 Baking Dish (or Aluminum Foil Pans for Freezer Meals)
- “Bitch I AM the Secret Ingredient” Oven Mitt
- Can Opener
Tuna Noodle Casserole with Corn
Ingredients
- 2 cans tuna in water (drained)
- 2 cans sweet corn (drained)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 8 oz cheddar cheese
- 16 oz box of macaroni noodles
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Place a large pasta pot full of water on stove to boil. Once boiling place noodles in, and boil them until tender (approximately 15 minutes)
- Open all cans, drain (if applicable), and place in 13X9 baking dish.
- Mix it all together until the pasta is thoroughly coated by the soup, and the ingredients are mixed.
- Cover with lots and lots of yummy cheese.
- Place in the oven for 10-25 minutes or until the cheese is hot and bubbly
- Remove and serve!

Penny, someone told me that normally this recipe does have peas in it. I have always had it with corn. Maybe I should try peas sometimes. Might be a nice change! Enjoy!

I think Tuna Casserole is the ultimate comfort food. I’ve never thought to add corn, what a delicious addition! People think this is crazy, but I enjoy adding red hot to mine (not in the recipe, but used as a condiment).
