One thing you may or may not know about me is that I am kind of obsessed with the uses of vinegar! You can use vinegar for EVERYTHING! One of my favorite things to do is use Heinz Apple Cider vinegar in this homemade Italian salad dressing recipe. It’s a great way to spruce up your salad, and the best part is you can control how much calories and fat are in it too!
There more I think of recipes for Crunchy Frugalista, the more I am learning to make things from scratch. It’s a great frugal way to feed your family, plus it’s amazing how much fresher they taste as well.
Heinz Apple Cider vinegar is fantastic in this Italian dressing recipe, but that’s not the only place that I use it in the kitchen. Vinegar is also a great cleaner as well. It’s got some amazing antibacterial properties as well. When I need to make homemade green cleaners, I just mix vinegar with water and start to go to town. It’s also great to cure a stinky garbage disposal as well. (I told you I loved my vinegar)
A few months back my daughter had a trip to the Mayo Clinic, and when she was admitted to the hospital they pretty much wrapped her bad eczema in medical grade vinegar. I had never heard of it done before. It worked wonders on her skin though! So much so that we add a splash to her bath, and/or soak wraps in vinegar to help her skin when it gets flared out again.
Can you tell I am trying to sell you on vinegar yet? I totally believe in the great aspects of using apple cider vinegar. We will never buy cleaners again. It’s great to cook with, and if it helps my daughter’s skin I am one happy camper!
