These homemade lemon bars are one of my favorite dessert bar recipes. Bring a little sunshine to your life.

  1. Crust Ingredients:
  2. • ½ cup Butter, softened
  3. • 1 1/3 All Purpose Flour
  4. • ¼ cup Sugar
  5. Lemon Layer Ingredients:
  6. • 2 Eggs
  7. • ¾ cup Sugar
  8. • 2 Tablespoons Flour
  9. • 3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
  10. • ¼ teaspoon Baking Powder
  11. Preheat Oven to 350 degrees
  12. In a large bowl, mix together the crust ingredients. It should form a nice, crumbly dough.
  13. In the bottom of a greased 8×8 baking dish, press the dough using a fork or your fingers.
  14. Bake the crust at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
  15. In a second large bowl, mix the eggs, sugar, flour and lemon juice until well combined.
  16. Add in the baking powder last. Make sure no lumps remain.
  17. Pour the lemon mixture over the baked crust.
  18. Bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes or until the lemon layer is set.
  19. Cool for several hours before cutting and serving.
  20. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
