What makes summer better than some amazing summer recipes? Fruit is fresh, the grill is hot, and friends and family are all around. That’s why I have compiled a list of some of the best summer recipes here at Crunchy Frugalista. That way you can find anything and everything perfect for that amazing burger, fresh salad, or other party treat this summer.
Being from the South, when I think of summertime I think of Low Country shrimp boils, ice cold watermelon, and swimming in the marsh behind my Grandfather’s house. He used to own a home right off the river in Savannah, Georgia. Every summer I would visit him, and we would fish for crab right off of the dock. It was always so much fun. Every now and then we would swim in the marsh, but we always had to swim with sneakers on because the oysters in the bottom of the marsh were THICK and sharp. As a kid, I always remember worrying about them biting my feet.
Though I don’t live in Georgia anymore, the smell of salt water brings me back to the warm family and food filled summers that I used to spend with my grandparents in Savannah. They’re some of the best memories that I have of my childhood. Most of these summer recipes are foods that we used to eat when I was back home, I hope you love them as much as I do!
