Recently I had a chance to drive a 2014 Ford Escape for a week, and I have to say that it brought my love of cars and technology to a whole new level! It’s been over five years since I have been in the car market, and technology in cars has changed so much in just the last 5 years!
The 2014 Ford Escape is the mid-level car in the Ford fleet of vehicles, and it offers a stylish way to travel with your family. One of my favorite features of the Ford Escape was the SYNC with myFord touch technology. You literally have anything and everything at your finger tips. Normally, I would use the navigation system on my phone, but with the in dash navigation all I had to do was plug in my destination and away we went.
SYNC with myFord touch technology also makes it easy to use the Bluetooth phone system available on your phone. You can program it to automatically recognize your Bluetooth capable device, and upon entering the car you don’t even have to pull your phone out of your purse or bag. With the hands free phone controls on the steering wheel, it is easy and safe to have your phone conversations while you are on the road.
Rear backing camera assistance was also a new feature for me to try out. I quickly fell in LOVE with this feature. It not only gives you a rear view from the bumper so you can prevent running over items that might be in your blind spots, but it offers guidelines to show you where you will end up. Beeps also alert you when you might be coming a bit too close to objects while backing.
How is the Ford Escape on the road? Our family had an opportunity to take it for a spin on our weekend camping trip, and it offered a great ride to the event. We weren’t sure where exactly this campground was, and we were able to find it easily with the assistance of the navigation system. The four of us and our gear fit comfortably in the car, and it was easy with fold down seats to let the kids enjoy a night of car camping. (They thought that was the coolest thing ever)
The vehicle we drove was also equipped with Ford’s Ecoboost technology. This newer technology aims to improve the gas efficiency of vehicles that are normally gas guzzlers. During our travels this car averaged about 27 miles per gallon, with combined trips between city and highway travel. This is MUCH better gas mileage than the minivan that we currently own. With less gas usage, it not only helps your wallet but the environment as well! You guys know how helping the environment is a soft spot for me.
The 2014 Ford Escape was a really fun experience. I am the ultimate tech nerd and have had a love of cars for years. If you are looking for a car that meets your travel needs, and your technology cravings, I highly recommend the Ford Escape. We loved it so much that we are seriously thinking about getting one once the kids start leaving the nest. It’s a fun car that is great to travel in and looks great driving on the road. (Trust me, I had people stop and give me compliments)

You’re so right, technology has changed so much in vehicles the last few years. I love how the Escape has so many bells and whistles, especially the rear view camera. It would be great for me since I’m short and it can be tough to see well!

I totally agree with EVERYTHING about this post! I fell in love with just the look of the new Ford Escape and HAD to drive one. Once I did, I totally forgot about the look of it! (of course, I still think it’s the cutest thing ever made!) I was so impressed with the handling and smoothness of the drive and ride, as well as how roomy it actually was! Glad more people share a love of this fab Ford!!!
Thanks for sharing!
