Ever since I was a little girl, I have had fond memories of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Growing up there wasn’t anything better than making my favorite PB&J sandwich and eating it with a tall glass of cold milk!
Every summer or so, I would visit my grandfather down in Savannah. He’s always been like a second dad to me, and each year I couldn’t wait to see him. One of our traditions was always to share a great PB&J sandwich together. He’s always had such a love of peanut butter, and I guess you can say that I came by my love of it honestly.
Now that I am older, and have kids of my own, we have developed our own twist on the classic PB&J sandwich. We love fresh fruit in the Crunchy household so of course we had to add fresh fruit to our sandwich, but that’s not even where the big secret is. Want to know how we do it? We grill our sandwich! Yup, grilled peanut butter and jelly. It really takes your sandwich to the next level. Trust me, don’t knock it until you try it!

I seriously have my doubts about grilling a pb&j, but then I remember that grilled cheese is an awesome sandwich, while a microwaved cheese and bread sandwich makes you feel poor. 😉 I may have to give this a try. I can say for certain that the bananas are an awesome addition to a peanut butter sandwich, so there’s no reason why strawberry jelly would ruin that awesome match… mmm strawberry banana pb&j.
