On a sunshiny day in Hawaii, in 1979, the Earth was blessed with the quirky being now known as Ash Sears. Yep, that’s me. The hostess with the mostest (bottles of empty wine), the conquerer of the English language (fluent in sarcasm), and the resident quirky being here at Quirky Inspired!
Quirky Inspired is a community for black sheep, unique individuals, overstressed moms, and wine afficianados alike. If you’re a little weird, and want to learn to own that, this is the place for you. (Woohoo! You did finally find a place that you fit in! Weird is our coat of arms here!)
I’ve been working towards living a quirky, inspired life for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid, I used to let people mistreat me thinking they were my “friends.” It wasn’t until I was an adult that I started to realize that the things that make me different aren’t a character flaw, but something to be celebrated. They are what makes me, me! Want to learn how to kick toxic friends to the curb. Read up here about toxic friendships
Slowly over the years, I’ve put into place the idea of living a quirky, inspired life and it’s been the best decision I’ve ever made. No longer do I have toxic friendships that tear me down, but a great group of friends that appreciate me for who I am.
You don’t get to be this awesome by living a cushy life. My life has definitely had it’s ups and downs (hello ADD and OCD). We’ve made through lost jobs, suicide, chronically ill kids, divorce, remarriage, eating disoders, and still managed to have a smile on our face. Yes, sometimes you might find me rocking in the corner, but we all be ok. You read more about how I got to this level of quirky here: WTF Does living a Quirky Inspired Life Mean?
We don’t take life too seriously here. You don’t get to be #1 on Google talking about “why are my son’s socks crunchy?” without having a damned good sense of humor. (And kids that don’t mind laughing at themselves too)
That and you have to learn to love the skin that you are in. Despite having an eating disorder as a kid, I’ve learned to overcome my body hate issues and even worked a bikini this summer plus posted it on the interwebs for all to see. Now that is what you call body positivity. It was all possible when I took my power back, and didn’t let other people’s opinions of my body control me anymore. You can listen about that here: The Bikini of Doom
Now that you know a little bit about me, we can take this relationship to the next level. Dig deeper into the Quirky Inspired universe. All that is required is a great sense of humor, a love of food porn, and a little click of the button. Welcome to my boudoir.
