Mr. Crunchy and I have decided to start a new tradition. Since we have a travel section on the blog, we wanted to start a travel bucket list. A list of anything and everything we want to do and see before we die. First up on the list is Aruba!
Normally we are not one to wish for sandy beaches and tropical destinations, but there is just something about the sandy beaches of Aruba that have always enticed me. (That or maybe because it spurs me to sing Kokomo by the Beach Boys)
My trip to Aruba would be to appease my inner foodie and outdoor nut. Aruba has some of the most breathtaking views on their more secluded beaches. Nothing but sun and sand for miles and miles. It would probably be the only way Mr. Crunchy could get me to unplug for more than a day.
Sites to See
Our perfect trip would involve a lot of time outdoors. One of the best sites to see in Aruba is the Arikok National park. This park is home to many beautiful cliffs and natural pools. You can even enjoy a great Jeep excursion and cruise the park for the day!
If outdoors is not quite your speed, Aruba is home to many great museums as well. Some of the most popular Aruba tourist attractions are:
- Alta Vista Chapel
- Aruba Aloe Museum
- Antilla Ship Wreck
- Archaeology Museum
Local Cuisine
What is a vacation without some amazing food? Of course being the foodie I am, I have already compiled a great lists of places to eat in Aruba! Mr. Crunchy and I have very eclectic taste when it comes to food. He’s a lot more adventurous than I am, so this list is a great compilation of fine and casual dining. Though I like to stay in my comfort zone, I do try to explore a bit more when I am on vacation. On our trip, I would love to give some local cuisine a try at one of these restaurants:
- Carte Blanche
- Passions on the Beach
- Pinchos Bar and Grill
- Sole Mar
