You may not think of June as springtime, but that’s when spring in Minnesota decided to show up this year. We finally have dusted off all of the snow, and now our spring flowers are starting to come out.
Though this is our first spring in Minnesota, I am already falling in love with the beauty of this state. Now that it’s warmer, the kids and I decided to discover our neighborhood and the local parks a little bit more. We wanted to share our journey with you. Our family hopes that you enjoy the photos we took on our adventure.
This is a Minehaha Falls. It’s located in a city park about five miles from our house. When we were deciding to move to Minnesota, we had a chance to visit the falls when they were frozen which was really cool. They are equally as beautiful frozen as they are in the springtime.
The Como Zoo an conservatory is a free zoo and conservatory in St. Paul. It’s a great park, and we had a chance to see the spring flower show. It was the most amazing experience. The flowers were so fragrant, and the colors so vivid. It was a nice revival from the bleak, long winter we have had.
There’s a joke in Minnesota that we have two seasons; winter and construction. Well, I guess this sign officially means its construction season, which means no more pot holes! Yeah! I am not kidding they are big enough to swallow small cars.
The kids were tired of being cooped up all winter. Our first walk out this year, the two youngest were determined to figure out who was the fastest runner. Ready, set, go!
