When we go camping, we are always looking for some camping crafts for kids to keep the kids occupied. Crafting when you camp can be tons of fun, but it’s got to be something that is light and easily portable. These ladybug coasters are both of those!
All you need to make these super cute coasters are some blank coasters, a few paint brushes, and three colors of paint! That’s it. This activity works perfectly on any picnic table which most campsites have, and its just a few simple steps that your kids can do between the other fun activities you have planned during your camping trip!
Here’s how to get these cute coasters!
Supplies:
- Red Craft Paint
- White Craft Paint
- Black Craft Paint
- Paintbrushes
- Slate coasters (found these at Michaels)
- Using your black paint, at the bottom of the coaster, paint a half circle that is not quite as tall as half way up the coaster.
- From the center of your half circle, paint a black line perpindicular splitting the coaster in two. (This it the line separating the wings)
- From the end of the black line, paint a small triangle over top of the end. Curve it a bit so it looks like the end of the wings.
- Allow to dry.
- Once your black is dry, paint the rest of the slate coaster red for the wings.
- Allow to dry.
- Paint black dots on the wings.
- Atop of the half circle you painted first, paint attennas
- Add eyes to your half circle and you are done!
