That was an easy $200! CRASH. Yup, that’s how my day began today. Mr. Crunchy and I are waiting on a pre-approval to buy a house, so I thought I would flex my social media manager muscles and open up some spots for new clients!
In less than 15 minutes, my two week work window was full. I was feeling oh so confident in myself and my networking skills. I laid the laptop down on my bed, kicked back on my pillow, and then gleefully celebrated how much I love my job. That celebration was cut a WEE bit when karma gave me a SWIFT kick in the pants as my laptop went CRASHING to my hardwood floor! (Well, there GOES a quick $200!)
Today’s lesson folks is brought to you buy humility and practicality. Let us not be boastful of our business conquests and remain humble, while being practical enough to NOT put your top heavy laptop (open I might add) at the foot of your best so that it may go catapulting downward to it’s death.
Of course on top of all of this splendor, I didn’t opt for the accidental damage protection for the laptop. (Whoever actually uses that stuff, right??!!) The insurance would’ve cost me an addition $100 and now here I am with my easily acquired $200 in one hand, and a broken laptop with a bill for $258 sitting in the other. Sometimes I get a little to excited about the victories in my life. It important to realize that sometimes practicality trumps having a happy dance!
On the bright side, at least I hadn’t planned to bring the laptop to the blogging conference I am attending in a few weeks. If I had I would’ve been sorely disappointed because my beloved laptop has a date with Dr. Rehab courtesy of the Dell Support desk. Hope they can fix my baby, I already feel lost without her.

That totally sucks! I would have to live without for awhile if that would have been me. My current one had our bed fall on it. My husband was jumping off the bed to go grab a screaming child in the middle of the night when my own side fell… on top of my Mac. Dented and used is it’s name.

Kelly, sadly I JUST got my laptop so it needed to be fixed and I had other means. Usually yes, I would have to suffer 🙂
