This week has been crazy. I mean CRAY CRAY! The saddest part of it all is that most of it was craziness that I had caused.
As you guys know ,in a week, I am going to my very first blogging conference. What you may not know is just how much preparation goes into getting ready to go out of town. (Sadly, my house and my blog don’t run themselves without me)
This week started out with my realizing that I am completely and UTTERLY burnt out. I love you guys, you know I do, but there is a time (sometimes many times) when a girl needs a break. I mean exactly how many craft and recipe ideas can you think up before your head explodes, right?! That’s why you have seen me posting a little less over the summer. I figured that before my posts began to look like five year old gibberish Crunchy would take some much needed R&R! (Though I have to say that Debi, Christy, and Savanah have absolutely been saving my sanity with the help on the blog. My sanity thanks you all!)
That’s what lead me to my second goodie of the week. (This one was actually a goodie) Thanks to some of my new Minnesota friends, I found out about a salon here in town called Wave. This place had a Groupon out and I was ALL over that!
The last haircut I had was right around my birthday, back in January, and what I told him was to give me a stacked bob. What I think he heard was give me a Velma mullet, because ladies that is what I got. (And NO Velma mullets are NOT sexy). What made it even better is I got to strut my stuff on THE red carpet with said Velma Mullet. Needless to say, ever since I have been growing my hair out.
With a hope and a prayer, I ventured to the other side of town hoping that someone could save this mop on my head, and folks I am so happy to say that I have found myself a stylist that knows how to fix chop jobs! Now I will be going to BlogHer with an amazing do, and even some beautifully landscaped eyebrows to boot! (Even Crunchy mamas need some pampering from to time to time)
Now I look fab, and all I have to do is get all of my goodies in line to head to Chicago. It’s going to be four fabulous days of networking, party hopping, and connecting with friends new and old. I am really excited for the possibilities for both myself and for Crunchy Frugalista at this great event. Just hope I can keep my sanity together while I do it all!
Remind to tell you next time how the SAME day I get back to BlogHer, I am dropping Mr. Crunchy at a new job up in North Dakota. (The crazy continues)
