~~Summer time is awesome, but for the avid TV folks, like myself, sometimes it can feel like the bane of my existence. Most of my favorite TV shows are on hiatus, and that means GASP I might actually have to find something other than watching TV to do!
Oh, oh, oh, but wait! TV producers have gotten smart, and have started making some kick butt televisions shows to get you through the summertime. (Thank you, thank you, thank you) Not sure what I am talking about let me share with you my Crunchy Summer TV survival guide! Crunchy’s Summer TV Survival Guide
Pick some killer shows to get you through: Finding at least 2-3 three shows to get you through the summer is crucial. I’m talking shows you are beating feet to make sure you get home by, or just HAVE to have on DVR. Here are some of my favorites:
•So You Think You Can Dance: This has hands down been my favorite summer TV show. The audition outtakes, Mary Murphy’s Hot Tamale train, and Emmy Award winning choreography make it a must!
•Pretty Little Liars: Ok, so this is outright high school drama, but it will make you glad you aren’t in high school any more.
•Master Chef: This show kicks butt because it has Gordon Ramsey minus the F-bombs. A great show taking a bunch of home cooks and seeing who is a culinary beast. Theirs food, drama, and a lot of awesome challenges.
•Mistresses: I will admit this is a new favorite of mine, and it may or may not have to do with my Mistresses set visit in LA. Nevertheless, don’t let the title of this show fool you. Mistresses is light and airy just like you expect of most summer TV. Plus, there’s drama, hot men, and a great sisterhood that you shouldn’t miss.
Join Beamly, and interact with some super fans like yourself: Once you get into your shows, make sure to join Beamly. It’s a great app and website where you can dish with other fans on the show. It also has some awesome features that allow you to live tweet about the show as well. So you can tweet and interact on Twitter while chatting in the chatrooms during the shows. They also have great articles that give you the behind the scenes dish.
Invest in a DVR: Summer is the months most of us are on the go, go, go. That’s why a DVR is a LIFESAVER. If you aren’t able to be around when your shows are on, a DVR will make sure that you can catch up.
When in doubt, binge watch fall TV: If you just can’t bring yourself to get into some summer shows, when in doubt binge watch fall shows you’ve wanted to watch but haven’t had a chance to. Of course, you know I am not leaving you hanging. Here’s what I am binge watching this summer!
•Game of Thrones (HBO)
•True Blood (HBO)
•Revenge (ABC)
•Scandal (ABC)
•Orange is the New Black (Netflix)

All I watch is Food Network and American Pickers, every single night. I have a lot of episodes DVR’d!
