I am the champion, my friends. Yes, as of last night you are now reading the words of the Yahoo Fantasy Football champion of my family. Bragging rights and virtual trophies all around are the spoils of this victor.
This post is written on behalf of Yahoo Daily Fantasy, but all football fan girling is my own.
My family and I have a little bit of a football habit. For about ten years now, my family and I have a Yahoo Fantasy Football league each year. It’s been something that my mom started a decade ago, and it’s been a fun way for all of us to smack talk one another even though we all live all across the country. Seriously, my brother is east coast. I live in the midwest, and my sister lives in the west coast. Not quite sure we could be any farther apart and still be in the same country.
Every year, my mom, aka the comish, sends us our fantasy football league invites, and we set up our draft. I’m no expert by any stretch of the imagination. You could say that I follow sports enough to be dangerous but not enough to be able to quote Teddy Bridgewaters QB rating. (For those of you that don’t know Teddy Bridgewater, he’s the Vikings Quarterback. Skol Vikings!)
While this year went really well for my team, not every year is like that. Some years a few injuries really hit my team hard and I’m out even before the end of the season. Not literally, just means I pretty much always know that I am going to lose. It can really bum you out. Watching football together and spending time as a family has been something that my husband and I continue to enjoy every Sunday. It’s kinda a way we spend quality time with each other…..screaming at the TV…..and smack talking about each other’s fantasy football teams.
Now Yahoo has this cool new thing called Yahoo Daily Fantasy. It’s great because you can set up a new fantasy every day, and earn a little extra dough while you do it . You can build fantasy teams for football and also hockey, basketball, baseball, and even the Canadian Football league. I’m checking it out because as a loyal Yahoo Fantasy Football player, they are offering me a 200% match on my first deposit to play Yahoo Daily Fantasy. Since we just ended our season, it’s a great way to continue playing Yahoo Fantasy Football even though my leagues season is over.
Yahoo Daily Fantasy is also the only place you can play daily league contests as well as full season contests! You can get started great free contests as well as $1 contests, and head to head contests. (Residents of AZ, FL, IA, MT, NV, LA and WA may only participate in free contests) I’m really excited to check out the “Champion of Champions” contest- winners of all full season fantasy football leagues will compete in Daily Fantasy tournament during the Football Playoffs to win prizes like a trip to San Francisco and $20k value in SeatGeek tickets!
