Harry Potter Gift Basket?! Are you a Harry Potter fan? Do you have a Harry Potter geek in your life? We’ve come together with Community Coffee to make a homemade gift basket to make sure the geek in your life is happy! The best part is this Harry Potter Gift basket is great for anytime of the year!
I’ll admit I was one of those adults that read all of the Harry Potter books. Now that my kids are older, they are reading the series too. My youngest, Bayla, helped me put together this Harry Potter gift basket and come up with our Harry Potter inspired recipe: Butterbeer Latte featuring the yummy roast of Community Coffee.
You may not know this, but my very first job in high school was working for a company called Savannah Sweets. It was a candy company owned by a family friend, and the first year there I worked with them making and filling gift basket orders. It was a fun job that was easy enough, but also let me use some creativity. That’s probably when I heard Community Coffee wanted to see what kind of gift basket I could come up with, my not so inner geek got a little bit excited.
Before I tell you how to make your own Harry Potter gift basket, we need your help. Community Coffee is having a contest for the best gift basket. You can head here to vote to make sure our gift basket is number one! Make sure to check out all the other cool gift baskets featuring Community Coffee too! May the best basket win
Make Your Own Harry Potter Gift Basket
Here’s everything that you need to make your very own Harry Potter inspired gift basket
Harry Potter Coffee Mug
Two Odd Shaped Small Bottles (we got ours from Michaels)
Red Scrapbook Paper (Make sure it’s not card stock)
Blue Food Coloring (Optional)
Directions:
- When we went to the store, we got a very plain basket with the idea of making it look like a cauldron. If you want to do this as well, make sure your basket is clean and dry.
- Then paint the inside and the outside of the basket black! Allow to dry.
- Next, you want to make your “howler”.
- We did this really simply by cutting a piece of red scrapbook paper, and lined it with scrapbook paper that looked like parchment.
- In the howler was my delicious Butterbeer Latte Recipe. Look how good it looks!
- Next you want to cut out two tags from the parchment paper. I made mine about 2-3 inches in size.
- On one of the tags write: Liquid Luck and on the other write: Polyjuice Potion (add food coloring to this if you want)
- Each of these tags are going to be attached the unique shaped bottles that you chose.
- First, use a funnel to fill one bottle with butterscotch syrup, and the other with caramel syrup.
- We chose to add two drops of blue food coloring to the caramel syrup to make it look more like polyjuice potion.
- Punch a hole in each tag, and attach to your bottles with a bit of twine.
- Now that your basket is dry, fill it with your basket filling. Arrange the goodies in the basket, and your Harry Potter gift basket is ready to gift to your favorite muggle.
Personally, I love this basket because it features my LOVE of coffee. They have everything in there they need to make our butter beer latte recipe, plus some fun Harry Potter gifts as well!
