I did receive an all expenses paid trip to Tomorrowland’s Press Junket, but all Disney love and fandom are my own.
It’s been twelve years since I’ve been to Disneyland. That’s why when I was invited to the Tomorrowland press junket, and had a chance to hang with my Minnesota besties Chrysa and MaryBeth at the house of mouse I was a wee bit excited.
When were at Disneyland, we got to see some of the preparations for the Diamond Anniversary that is starting up at the park on May 22nd. The castle was all hand “bedazzled” with crystals and gem to commemorate 60 years of Disneyland awesomeness.
We spent the day riding some of my favorite rides; Pirates of the Caribbean, The Jungle Cruise, and Indiana Jones. We also got a chance to check out the Tomorrowland sneak peak! It’s a 12 minute featurette of the movie, with a cool kick butt trailer at the end. It’s in the old Captain EO theater, so we felt the wind in our hair, and the seats actually moved.
After the sneak peak was over, we headed to a special exhibit that had some of the actual props from the movie including the mysterious 1952 box (you can read more about that in the Brad Bird interview here) There were a lot of really cool props including Frank’s jet pack, which all of the stars agree that they wished was actually something that was real. (Great way to be LA traffic)
Watching the sneak peak and looking at the cool movie props already made me nostalgic! It reminded of so many neat scenes in the movie, and that I know my kids are really going to like Tomorrowland.
It blows my mind that no many how long it’s been since you’ve visited Disneyland, it still brings out the inner kid in you. The Tomorrowland sneak peak does the same thing. If you are planning a trip to Disneyland, make sure you check out all the fun Diamond Celebration events happening starting May 22nd, and of course check out the cool Tomorrowland exhibit giving you a behind the scenes look at the movie that also opens on May 22nd!
