Call me a cooking dork, but there is just something about cutting up fresh basil and garlic and shredding fresh parmesan cheese that just puts me in a happy spot.
My daughter and I were actually talking about our weird affinity for chopping things. We both love chopping and dicing herbs and veggies, except onions but who likes chopping onions. It’s a way that spend quality time in the kitchen together.

How to Make Chicken Alfredo: FAQs and TIPS
Can I use jarred alfredo sauce? In a rush, no problemo. You sure can make chicken alfredo with jarred sauce. We really love Bertolli Alfredo Sauce.
Is this recipe gluten free? This recipe is not gluten free, but make these 2 changes and like magic gluten free chicken alfredo bake:
- Use our homemade alfredo sauce (it’s super easy, cheesy and 3 steps)
- Use your favorite gluten free pasta
Can I use other meat in this dish? This recipe calls for chicken breasts, but you can use any cut of chicken. Chicken thighs are really tasty too!
What types of pasta works best in this recipe? The great thing about this easy chicken alfredo is that you can use literally ANY kind of pasta. Penne, fettucine, spaghetti, macaroni. Mix and match. Have fun with!
Can I freeze this chicken alfredo recipe? This recipe makes a great freezer meal. Just make it like you normally do, but pour it into an 13×9 aluminum pan with a lid. Just put the cheeses on top, and freeze.

Chicken Alfredo Baked Spaghetti
- 1 Box Spaghetti
- 1 Cup Heavy Cream
- 1 Cup Milk
- 8 oz Parmesan Cheese (Divided)
- 8 oz Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 Pound Chicken Breasts
- 1 Tbsp Freshly Diced Basil (with some left for garnish)
- 4 Cloves of Garlic
- Garlic Powder (to taste)
- Pepper (to taste)
- Splash of Olive Oil
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- Follow the directions for my Easy Alfredo Sauce here
- Bowl water and place full box of gluten free spaghetti and cook until al dente and drain (regular works well too)
- Cube the chicken, and in a hot pan cook until outside are browned. Season with pepper and garlic powder. Set aside.
- In a 13X9 baking dish, combine the chicken, spaghetti, and alfredo sauce. Spread out to make a thin layer.
- Coat with remaining parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes until the cheese is all melted.
- Remove and serve!

It’s in the oven now, but this recipe never said where the milk or basil fit in, so I winged it. Also, the specified brand of chicken comes in many different sized packages.. It smells great, though!
