I really wish this blog post was a happy sing songy update about how wonderful my daughter is, and that we are home safe and sound. (Ok, whom am I kidding, when am I ever sing songy) Sadly, there’s some good news, some meh news, and some really, really bad news.
The goodness is that we did get released from the Mayo clinic, but we sadly don’t have any clue why Bayla is still getting sicker. Her skin feels so much better, but she is already starting to itch and scratch again so it has this eczema momma worried we might end up right back in Mayo Clinic hospital again.
We returned home from the hospital on Friday, and our landlord sent over a gentleman to look into the mildew smell we had been complaining about. Upon further inspecting the basement, we not only have mildew, but we have walls and walls covered in mold. I mean like extremely covered in mold, and I am not talking a teeny bit. Look at this pictures. (not for those of weak nature)
One of Bayla’s worst allergies is to mold, and our HVAC unit is in the basement, which of course has me wondering if she’s been getting sicker because there has been mold growing in the basement that has been spewed through the house courtesy of our A/C unit.
In the span of a week, my youngest was unexpectedly put back in the hospital for two days and we are having to have a house packed and moved to a new house when we weren’t planning on moving. As of right now, we have found a new house that is twice the size of our house, and has so many awesome amenities our current house doesn’t have. It’s crazy stressful, but really exciting too. It’s even closer to where Mr. Crunchy works.
On Friday, we return to Mayo Clinic allergy clinic, and I am going to take the mold pictures with us. Not sure what the allergy doctor will say, but she might be able to give some insight if the presence of mold like this is what has caused our daughter to be hospitalized again.
Hoping you and yours had a MUCH less eventful Memorial Day weekend, and remember that even with the poo poo hits the fan, there’s always enough pina coladas, good friends, and luck to keep you sane through the adventure chaos.
