I did receive an all expenses paid trip to LA to facilitate this post, but all hilarity, fan girling, and awesomeness is my own.
Last week in LA, we had a chance to interview executive producer and star Leigh-Allyn Baker from Bad Hair Day. Disney Channel Bad Hair Day is a new film premiering TODAY, February 13th at 8pm on the Disney Channel. Not one for Disney Channel movies myself, I was pleasantly surprised that BHD is a movie I plan on seeing again tonight with my teens. It’s a hilarious movie that has a lot of heart! If you are looking for Disney Channel movies to watch this is one of them!
Bad Hair Day follows Laura Marano’s character, Monica, as she gets ready for prom. She’s vying for the prom crown, and in attempts to find the perfect hair do she uploads various hairstyles on her website for her readers to vote for them. (wow does that sound like a blogger or what?!) After a night filled with hair products, she wakes up with a style reminiscent of the bride of Frankenstein. It’s not long before her day turns completely sour and her bad hair is the least of her problems that the fun really begins.
From the title, you might think that Bad Hair Day is just a silly movie about a girl freaking out that prom preparations aren’t going her way, and you would be wrong. The great thing about this movie is that it has a great message for girls and a lot of heart. It not only has comedy, but tries to share with girls that you are who you are in your heart not what you think everyone else wants you to be.
My favorite part about Bad Hair Day is that the message is relatable to women of all ages. Most of us have had phases when we were unsure of ourselves, and it took us to really look inside before we figured out who we are and what we stand for. Disney Channel delivers this message beautifully and in an highly entertaining way.
Bad Hair Day isn’t your typical Disney Channel acting nor it’s typical sunshiney storyline. It has some real meat to it, and it really showcases both Leigh-Allyn Baker and Laura Marano’sability to bring the comedic hilarity as well as some great scenes that pull on the heart strings! That’s why it’s such one of the best Disney Channel movies to watch!
If you are excited about this new movie, and/or a big fan of Leigh-Allyn Baker or Laura Marano, you must check out Bad Hair Day February 13th at 8pm on the Disney Channel. It’s fun for the whole family, and something I can’t wait to watch again with my kids.
