I am always helping with Halloween parties at school for my kids. That means I need inexpensive and easy crafts to keep them busy and having fun. It’s kind of hard to think of these sometimes! We have made things like foam picture frames, ruler snowmen, and decorated party cups. I always seem to spend a lot of time trying to find something fun for the kids to do.
This year I decided we would make a simple Halloween Paint Chip Bookmark with the kids. These are so simple to make, the kids can make them on their own with very little help. Plus, they are inexpensive to make which works really well for school projects.
How to make Halloween Paint Chip Bookmarks
Materials
Orange Paint Chips (you can find these at any hardware store)
Ribbon
Hole Punch
Instructions
Step 1 – Find a paint chip color that you like and want to use to make the bookmarks. If you don’t want to make Halloween bookmarks, you could find different colors to use for a birthday party favor or other projects.
Step 2 – Punch a hole in the top of the paint chip
Step 3 – Tie your ribbon on using coordinating ribbon that works with the theme of bookmark you are making.
You can have your kids decorate them as well, color pumpkins and ghosts on the bookmarks for Halloween or even write scary notes. My boys made a few of these to use in their books at school during the month of October and the Halloween season. They made lots of fun “boy” type pictures on theirs. It was a really fun and easy project for them!
Have you made any Halloween or Fall crafts yet this year? What type of projects do you make?

This is a great craft and a “duh, why didn’t I think of that” moment for me. I always grab a ton of these when I am looking for a color and yep, they end up in the garbage. I can see modifying these for Christmas! Thank you for the great idea. My neighbor is a 1st grade teacher, I would love to make one for each of the kids and put their name on them too!
