Flowers are blooming, and the weather is warming up. That means that Easter and the wonderful Easter dinner is right around the corner. Other than candy, the Easter bunny, and Easter eggs this girl thinks of ham, oh glorious, ham. It doesn’t matter if it’s pineapple topped, bourbon glazed, or just brown sugar basted there is something about ham that brings a smile to this girl’s face.
7 Ways to Have the Most Epic Easter Dinner Ever
One thing that doesn’t make me happy dance is all the chaos that Easter dinner can cause. That’s why I am giving you 7 ways to have the most epic Easter dinner ever. These little cheats are going to save you time, money, and sanity. There’s no need for you to shower me with praise or complimentary gifts, just know I am happy making your Easter a little less chaotic. (but gratis bottles of wine, will not be returned)
Make it a pot luck: There’s no need for you to do all the dirty work. Get each guest to bring one of their favorite dishes. Using a Facebook group to coordinate so everyone doesn’t make the same thing makes things so much easier. ( or if your friends and family don’t want to cook, HoneyBaked Ham offers more than 20 side dishes and premium desserts.)
Ham, glorious, ham: Rather than getting all hot and sweaty on the big day, grab your ham somewhere else. Our family always loved HoneyBaked Ham. They are already cooked, deliciously crusted, and AMAZING. I am a Southern gal and we KNOW how to cook some ham. So, if I think this is the best stuff, you know it’s pretty darn good.
Prep is divine: Prepping as much as you can the night, or days, before your Easter dinner, will make hosting and cooking so much easier. No need to do it all the day your guests get there.
Crafts for the Kids: Keeping the kids happy is essential to everything going smoothly. Make a small crafting station for the kids to enjoy while everyone else is getting the day ready. This funny Easter jelly bean picture frame craft is a really easy one for kids to do on their own, and easy to clean up. You can also find several easy Easter Crafts here.
Make it a Movie Night: After the meal is over, have some winding down entertainment. Bellies are full, but conversation lingers, and it’s important to keep your guests engaged. Throw in a movie or play a round of cards to have some light fun until the day draws to an end.
Dance Baby Dance: No one likes doing clean up, but if you pipe in some music, and make it fun, people just might enjoy getting their jam on while clean up the Easter feast.
Leftovers Heaven: When cleaning things up, get separated containers out for the leftovers. HoneyBaked Ham makes some of the most amazing leftovers. You can make ham sandwiches, ham and cheese omlettes, ham and pinto beans (told you I’m a Southern gal), or even ham salad. Cube it, dice it, prep it for the amazing leftovers from your Easter dinner that you can eat off of all week.
