How to Find Glasses to Fit Your Personality
We’ve all seen those posts about how to find glasses to fit your face. What about how to find glasses to fit your personality?! Well, you are in luck this post is exactly about that. You feel super duper lucky don’t you!
Glasses don’t have to be something that make you think of your childhood when some jerk probably called you four eyes. Glasses can be an accessory that help you rock your awesome! They can be subtle or they can be loud and flamboyant!
When I first started wearing glasses, I NEVER took pictures with my glasses on. Wearing glasses was NOT my thing, and it drove me nuts that I needed them at such a young age (ok, I was 19 but still). If I was going to have to wear glasses, then they were going to be as next to invisible as possible.
There was my phase when nothing but “invisible” frames would do. Then metal frames became my thing. The sad thing is instead of looking chic, I looked like the grandma from Little Red Riding Hood. After many failed attempts at finding glasses that didn’t look like I was wearing glasses, I decided to give in. It was time that I took back the power from glasses and used them as an accessory to rock my awesome.
Not sure what it was about two years ago, but that was when I decided to go bold and never came back! That was when I learned how to find glasses that match your personality.
Two years later, I’m due for a new eye exam, so I’m headed to Lenscrafters to check out their new exam technique, Clarifye. It’s digital, top of the charts amazing, and gets your eye exam done in 60 seconds flat (or at least it felt that fast!) Now that is super duper fast.
Ever since I’ve had to start wearing glasses full time, I’ve always loathed the whole “is this better or this one”. My eyes would start to fatigue, and it seemed like it took forever to get it right. Clarifye takes a lot of that guess work out so I can talk to my doctor about any health concerns I have.
Before I can blink my eyes, my exam was done and I was off to find a new pair of glasses to help rock my awesome personality. (Plus, I could get new lenses in my old glasses so I could still wear those too!)
Need a new pair of glasses? Then make sure to check out Lenscrafters new exam to get you the most accurate eye test out right now, and then check out our tips on how to find glasses to match your personality
How to Find Glasses to Match Your Personality
- Frame Material: Comfort is #1 in how to pick the right glasses. Do you prefer plastic? metal? nose pads?
- Style: There are so many different styles to choose from. Do you like sparkles? Angled rims? Wide Eyed Rims?
- Feature: What do you want your glasses to feature? Maybe you have sparkly blue eyes, and want a big sense so everyone can see your baby blues. Maybe you have great eyebrows and want glasses that hug them just under your brow line. Figure out which feature you want to show off and rock that pair.
- Color: Do you want bold colors? Do you prefer metal only colors? Personally, I love the bold colors of glasses. My current pair are black with purple highlights. Next time I might go for something crazy like electric blue.
- Bold or Subtle: Sometimes subtle is the way to go, it allows you to see without the glasses getting in the way of your face, or would you rather something bold that makes people turn and notice your kicking pair of glasses. Deciding which statement you want your glasses to make can really help you find glasses to match your personality.
And the winner was………

These are great tips. I have a friend with glasses, and she spends a lot of time on finding the right frames. She told me that if you get the wrong frames, you’ll look “wrong” as she put it.

I always have a hard time finding a pair of glasses. My insurance unfortunately doesn’t cover many, so I get stuck with choosing from very few of them. I think it’s important to find the right style and comfort for glasses.
