Before the premiere of Iron Man 3 in Hollywood, myself and 24 other bloggers had the chance to interview Gwyenth Paltrow, who plays Pepper Potts in the film. When you meet someone that you have looked up to your whole life in person a TON of things run through your head! What’s she going to be like? Is she how she seems in all of her interviews? Most of all what am I, a little ole blogger from Minnesota, going to ask her?!

As soon as she entered the room, amidst all of our applause, Gwyneth had a real warmth to her that was truly endearing. I am not one to get star struck, but she had a friendly presence about her and a warmth to her smile. It’s no surprise that she was recently named People Magazine’s Most Beautiful Woman.

Gwyneth on Pepper Potts and Iron Man 3
Iron Man 3 is the third installment in the Iron Man movie series. Gwyneth’s character Pepper Potts is known for being kind and strong, but she seems an amazing transformation in this film! At the beginning of Iron Man she is strong yet meek, whereas at the end of the third film she’s no longer Tony’s assistant! She has become the CEO of Stark Industries, and reemerges as a strong female lead that isn’t ready for the boys to have all of the fun anymore!
As part of her transformation, Pepper is now in a relationship with Tony, but she’s not ready to settle for just anything anymore. Gwyneth shares “it’s really cool [in Iron Man 3] to see her wanting to get her needs met.” Pepper has become a woman that knows what she wants, and she isn’t afraid to go after what she wants while protecting the ones she loves.

Gwyneth Suits Up
Known for her work in period pieces, we asked Gwyneth what it was like to don the Iron Man suit herself for the first time. Iron Man 3 is the first time ever that Gwyneth has done any action film work or stunts. After seeing the film, I am wondering why she hasn’t done it before. She kicked some serious butt! (You guys know how I love seeing a woman showing men how it’s done ;))
Gwyneth wasn’t the only one that thought she rocked the suit! Earlier in the day, we had a chance to speak with Chris Swift, one of the designers of all the Iron Man suits. At first, the designers weren’t sure what she was going to think about wearing the suit, but by the end of shooting he proclaimed they couldn’t get her OUT of the suit! He supported Gwyneth’s statement sharing that “She was the belle of the ball in that suit!”

Gwyneth About Working With Robert Downey, Jr.
I can personally attest to the hotness factor when it comes to Robert Downey, Jr. (especially now since I have seen him with my own beady little eyes), but what is it like to work with him? This is the third Iron Man movie that Gwyenth and Robert have worked together on, and she had NOTHING but positive things to say about him. During filming, Robert had a reputation of keeping fellow actors on their toes, but she professes that “it’s really fun. You never know what’s going to happen [with Robert] which I love.”
Even her kids seemed to love Robert, whom she explains “they didn’t even know he was famous until about a year ago.” She describes working with him as fun and an environment that her kids loved to be in!

Gwyneth About Having Her Kids on Set
In Iron Man 3, Robert Downey, Jr isn’t the only super hero! Gwyneth gets to kick it as one too! If I were to film a movie, my son would think I was a total rock star if I became a super hero! (What you mean I am not already?!), and Gwenyth’s kids are no different. During the filming of Iron Man 3, she was able to have her son, Moses, on set with her!
One of her favorite on set memories was when she wore the suit for the first time. She came out in the suit, and she swears ” I will NEVER forget the look on his face.” I guess it earned her some mommy cool points! Shoot, it earned some cool points with me, too! That’s pretty awesome!
As if the suit wasn’t enough, there is now officially a Pepper Potts in the Lego Iron Man 3 set, which according to Gwyneth, makes her a “goddess” in her son’s eyes! I mean who wouldn’t think she’s a goddess? I mean it’s LEGO!
Meeting Gwyneth Paltrow and dishing with her about Iron Man 3, working with Robert, and her kids was a real blast! It was just like having drinks with your favorite girlfriend. She is so down to earth, and honestly a super nice lady. It’s great that Marvel and Disney finally let her character kick a little butt in this movie because Gwyneth is definitely a kick butt chick!
If you want to see for yourself, make sure to watch Iron Man 3 which comes out in theaters everywhere May 3rd! It’s action packed, and even Pepper kicks to kick a little butt to save the world from the clutches of evil!

I LOVED this piece, very well written!! Before reading this article I did not know very much about Ms. Paltrow but this article gave me a glance into her world. I am not a big fan of these types of movies but I very much look forward to seeing Iron Man 3!!
