Homemade Marinara Sauce Recipe

This easy crockpot marinara sauce is easy to make with fresh or canned ingredients and so versatile you can make it with many meals

  1. In a sautee pan, heat the olive oil. Sautee the onions, garlic, and oregano. Set aside
  2. Cut the tops and the bottoms of the tomatoes with “X”
  3. Place in boiling water for approximately 1-2 minutes
  4. Remove and allow to cool.
  5. When cool, peel the tomatoes.
  6. In a small bowl, use potato smasher to mash the tomatoes.
  7. Add all the ingredients into a crock pot. (If the tomatoes are still too lumpy, use a food processor to blend)
  8. Simmer on low heat for 4-6 hours.
  9. Serve Hot or Freeze in a freezer bag.
