Felt flowers are so simple to make. I add them to so many of my projects these days and I thought I would share an easy tutorial with everyone on how to make these little cuties. They are the perfect little addition to gifts, cards, gift bags, hair pieces, or even necklaces. I’m sure you once you figure out how simple they are, you will go crazy like me and add them to everything!
How to Make Felt Flowers
Materials You Need
- Felt
- Scissors
- Round template
Instructions
Step 1 – Place your Round template out on your piece of felt
Step 2 – Trace around your template on the felt and then cut out the circle
Step 3 – Start cutting the felt from the outside into the center of the circle, making a shape that resembles a snake. (see the photo below)
Step 4 – Start winding the the long piece of felt up,beginning on the outside of the circle and working towards the inside.
Step 5 – Once you have the entire piece curled up into the shape of a flower, add a little bit of glue (I use hot glue) on the backside of the flower to hold it together. The felt sticks together really well so you don’t need to worry about it coming apart while you are waiting to glue it.
That’s it! You have a cute little felt flower that you are ready to use in all of your crafting projects! I made a couple little Halloween gifts and used them as toppers for the gifts. I think they really give the gift that added personal touch that is so adorable! I made lots of these at Christmas time and use them on packages that I wrap and jars of jelly that I hand out to neighbors. Have fun making them!
