It’s the holidays, and for our family it means it’s time to whip out Netflix Christmas movies! We are definitely movie fanatics. That doesn’t change during the holidays season. Rather than having to chase our favorite holiday shows on TV, we just stream them when we want to on Netflix! That’s why we thought we would put together our 12 Favorite Christmas movies on Netflix (ok, some of them are Christmas shows too!)
This list is tried and tested by our family. Some of them are family friendly Christmas, others are more romantic holiday movies, and there are movies that are just awesome adult only Christmas! We hope you enjoy the list as much as we enjoyed watching them!
The Nightmare Before Christmas: This movie is one of my favorite sappy romantic Christmas movies.
Scrooged: This one is a classic Bill Murray funny movie! I remember watching this when I was growing up. It’s got my twisted sense of humor. Probably why it made the list!
The Muppets Christmas Carol: The Muppets make everything all better! Just add Christmas ala Charles Dickens and what’s not to like?
Love Actually: This movie is one of my favorite sappy romantic Christmas movies.
Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas: I guess it’s time that I admit I have an obsession with Mickey Mouse. Growing up in a Disney obsessed household, Mickey Christmas movies were always a favorite, and it’s a tradition I’ve continued with my kids.
Bad Santa: Now this one is NOT kid appropriate, but it is hella funny!
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles: This movie is one you should watch if you think your holiday travels suck. Just remember it could Always be worse!
Christmas with the Kranks: My kids really think this one is hilarious.
Ernest Saves Christmas: Ok, totally dating myself here but this is a classic institution from the eighties. You know what I mean, Verne?
Legend of Frosty the Snowman: Happy birthday, this is another classic Christmas movie. It’s one that we make sure to watch every year no matter what.
Two of our favorites, didn’t make the streaming cut. Never fear, they are available on Netflix DVD!
Home Alone : As a kid, everyone wished they would be left Home Alone. Loved watching this movie to see just how much trouble one kid could get into during the holidays.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas: Personally not a huge Jim Carrey fan, but the kids love the new version of Grinch. Also available on Netflix DVD.
