We yell hip hip hooray for this strawberry infused tea recipe. It was a total life saver when I was trying to reduce the amount of sugar in my life. That’s one secret trick that I learned when I was trying to give up some sugar. You have to add flavor to survive without sugar. No you know the secret too!
Strawberry Infused Tea Recipe
Growing up in the south, sweet iced tea is in my blood. We were practically raised drinking that stuff in our baby bottles. When I want a little taste of home, I love to brew some homemade southern tea. As my tastes have changed, I’ve found ways to make strawberry infused tea because it’s amazing, and doesn’t have as much sugar as traditional teas. It’s light and summery.
Mr. Crunchy and I both have a bad soda habit, so we’ve been trying to find ways to stop drinking soda. That’s how I came up with this strawberry infused tea. We had NO soda in the house, and plain water was not something that I was digging. No matter how hard I try, I just can’t bring myself to drink plain water. I know how much EVERYONE and their brother says it’s so important to you, but the closest thing I get to water is a good whiskey on the rocks (ice is water right?)
This tea has quickly become one of our favorite fruit infused teas. I’ve really been trying to quit drinking soda, and it’s been an ally in that battle. The strawberry adds just enough flavor that each time I make this tea that I can gradually reduce the amount of sugar in the drink. By the end of the summer, I hope to not have any sugar in the tea, which of course will help me get healthy. If you want even more great soda alternatives, check out my peach iced tea recipe here! There’s even a way to make it sugar free!
