I’m so excited to share this guest post from Megan over at Razberriez. She is the daughter of a friend of mine, and does the most amazing spring inspired nail tutorials. The warmer weather is here, so make sure to check out these super cute nails. Also make sure to check out her website www.razberriez.com and Facebook page Facebook.com/razberriez! Spring has sprung and that means lots of pastel colors, cute sandals, and most importantly – an adorable mani! Not all nail art has to be crazy difficult to catch an eye, a bit of patience and practice is all you need. This simple spring manicure is perfect for any skill level, the combination of lines/dots makes it almost impossible to mess up. Feel free to mix any color combinations, add glitter, anything you would like to customize your design!
Materials needed:
– Basecoat (Julep basecoat)
– Mint green polish (Julep Dianna)
– Light purple polish (Julep Elisa)
– Black polish (Julep Cleopatra)
– White polish (Julep Casper)
– Gold polish (Julep Margot)
– Topcoat of choice
– Dotting tools (bobby pins work too!)
Step 1: Apply your favorite basecoat to protect your natural nail from staining, chipping, or peeling of your amazing design.
Step 2: Paint your nails the mint green and light purple shades, alternating colors on different nails. I recommend two coats of each polish and letting the nails dry for 3-5 minutes.
Step 3: With your white polish, draw a thin line down the center of each nail. Using a detail brush or toothpick works best for this method.
Step 4: Add black lines on each side of the white line, try to keep these lines symmetric for best results.
Step 5: Using your dotting tool (largest size), create 3 large dots along the white line.
Step 6: This time using the black polish, create 2 black dots on the black lines – but make sure to stagger these dots from the white ones (ignore the thumb haha).
Step 7: With a smaller dotting tool, form black dots in the center of each white dot. *I added gold to the white centers of the purple nails for contrast*
Step 8: Repeat the same step, except use white polish in the center of the black dots.
