Sugar free people rejoice! This sugar free peach simple syrup recipe is here to save the day!
Thanks to my fibromyalgia diagnosis, as well as my Hashimoto’s diagnosis, I’ve had to give up sugar. That was a really sad day for me, being the sugaraholic that I am, BUT it has put me back in the kitchen having fun and coming up with great recipes like this sugar free peach simple syrup recipe!
Making this easy simple sugar syrup recipe is easier than saying that long name. It takes about 30 minutes from start to finish, but during those 30 minutes the stove is doing 90% of the work! (I’m all about work delegation)
If you are new to going sugar free, you are probably overwhelmed about all the sugar substitutes on the market. Personally, I don’t like the artificial sweetners. I wanted to make a sugar free simple syrup recipe without artificial sweeteners. That’s why this recipe uses xylitol. Sure, there is even some debate on the use of xylitol, but I think using it in moderation is ok.
Xylitol is a sugar alcohol found in nature, and the main reason I like it is because it doesn’t have any weird after tastes that some other sugar substitutes have. It also allows me to sweeten things, like my homemade peach iced tea recipe, without making my body go all crazy again. (Thanks fibromyalgia)
As far as which sweetener to use, do your own research. That’s what I did. I landed with xylitol because it was the only sweetener allowed that doesn’t promote inflamation in my body which means I don’t walk around feeling like I have flu fatigue all day long. And trust me that is a GOOD thing!
What is sugar free peach simple syrup good for? Tons of things! The things that I love most about this simple sugar syrup recipe is that it is so versatile. Simple syrups are great for using in cocktails, drinks (hello peach iced tea recipe!), and so many more things. The sky is the limit.
You can make it sweeter, or reduce the sugar. You can also leave peach pulp in there for a little extra added fiber, or drain it out to make your sugar free peach simple syrup totally syrup. Our family loves to add it to our peach iced tea with the pulp left in there that way we can get a fruit serving in too!

Can I use Stevia and if so how much. We have pets and xylitol is toxic to animals.
Thanks!
Ash Sears says
Yes, you should be able to use stevia in this recipe. Stevia is much sweeter than Xylitol so I would reduce the amount about half, and see if that is sweet enough for you ๐
