I did receive an all expenses paid trip to Tomorrowland press junket, but all film reviews and humor are my own
Imagine a world, where the future is no longer brighter, but something we fear. Now imagine that one person can fix it. Hitting theaters today, May 22nd, Tomorrowland is a great adventure filled with dreamers, futuristic cities, and hope. It’s a movie that my teens and tweens will be excited to see. There is adventure, action, and of course George Clooney, wanna go?
Tomorrowland follows the adventures of Casey, a good hearted kid that sometimes finds herself in a bit of hot water. As her life goes on, she realizes everything is so doom and gloom. Teachers are telling her how we are destroying the world and the news is nothing but death and destruction. She feels like she is alone in a room screaming. Is she the only one that wonders, ‘can we fix it?’
Bound to not settle for a future that isn’t bright and full of hope, Casey takes matters into her own hands which lands her butt in jail. That’s where the true adventure begins. Collecting her belongings she finds a mysterious pin among her things. As she goes to pick the pin up, it transports her to another world, Tomorrowland.
For a while, Casey thinks she might be losing it, as she is the only one that can see what happens when she touches her pin. Bound to figure out where this pin came from and what it does she begins researching where pins like this come from.
Looking for the origins of the pin she winds up finding Frank. Frank is a grumpy guy that seems like he’s seen one too many conspiracy theory stories. He’s not happy that Casey has found him, but soon realizes that she could be the key to undoing something he did as a boy while visiting Tomorrowland.
Tomorrowland is not only a family friendly movie, it provokes you to think ‘do we have to settle for a future that doesn’t look so bright?’ I think Tomorrowland would be perfect for kids 10 and up, so if you are looking for something to do this Memorial Day Weekend heading to see Tomorrowland could be just the ticket.
