Summer is here and that you need this watermelon fruit infused water to cool off this year! The warmer weather brings back so many memories from my childhood, and one thing I always looked forward to during the summer was fresh cold watermelon. I will admit that I am not a big fan of drinking straight water, and neither are my kids. That’s why I decided to spice up their water a little bit, that way they would still be hydrated after playing all day. With this great fruit infused water, they are also getting a serving of fruit without the sugar!
The best part for you is that there are only three ingredients to this simple summer beverage: ice, water, and watermelon! That’s it! No added sugars, dyes, or other icky stuff that come in some of the drinks kids are handed to hydrate themselves.
It’s best to make a fresh batch each time you want a drink that way the watermelon still has a fresh, crisp taste! The recipe is also so easy that even kids as young as three can help you make their favorite flavors! My kids added rosemary to one batch of their watermelon waters, but they weren’t a big fan of that. It was fun to let them experiment though.
Here’s how to make your very own watermelon fruit infused water!
