One of my kids favorite things to eat in the morning is a hot bowl of maple and brown sugar oatmeal. Buying the premade packages isn’t the most cost effective way to do it. That’s why I’ve made a recipe where you can easily make your own. It’s simple to make before hand in small or large batches to store in your pantry, all you need to do is add the water and the maple syrup and you are good to go.

The fun things about this recipe is that it’s a quick and easy breakfast for those cold winter mornings that will fill their bellies, and make for some happy campers before they go out to play in the snow. (Though my kids do enjoy this recipe year round) No ont

Ingredients
- 1/2 C Quick Cooking or Old Fashioned Oats
- 1 C Water
- Pinch of Salt
- 3 t Brown sugar
- 1 1/2 t Maple Syrup
- Butter (optional)
- Fresh Fruit (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl combine, oats, water, salt, brown, sugar and maple syrup
- Heat for approximately 1-3 minutes.
- Add butter and/or fresh fruit if desired.
- To Make for Storage, combine all dry ingredients and place in a container.
