I am receiving an all expenses paid trip to #gooddinoevent, but all fan girl and Dinosaur loving are my own.
Over the last four years, I’ve told you guys about my friend the inbox fairy. He’s awesome because he sends magical pixie dust in my inbox that let’s me travel to far away lands (ok, usually California, but hey that’s far from Minnesota), and rub elbows with filmmakers and celebrities. (By rub elbows, I mean sit across from them at a table and try to look professional and not drool. Why, hello, George Clooney) Well, the inbox fairy has done it again, and I will be headed to San Francisco next week from September 29th to October 2nd to learn all the great things about Pixar’s next movie The Good Dinosaur.
I’m really excited about going for a few reasons. I used to live in California for a few years, and San Francisco is one of my favorite places in the US. It’ll be a little bit nostalgic for me while I am learning all the great things about The Good Dinosaur, Inside Out, and other Disney/Pixar goodies.
The Good Dinosaur is going to hit theaters on Thanksgiving day, November 25th. We are getting to see a super early sneak peak of some of the film, which is really exciting. Check out the official The Good Dinosaur trailer here!
While we are in San Francisco, we are going to have an amazing time. We are headed to Pixar Studios, which is a place that I have never ever been before. I’ve always watch other bloggers post about it, and got a little green with envy. Pixar is such an awesome company, and the works that they have produced have been family favorites for years and years. Now I”m going to get a chance to head there, and tour the studios and learn more about the 20th anniversary of Toy Story and sit around a campfire roasting marshmallows with the director and producers of The Good Dinosaur while we chat about all their awesome research trips. (and. and. and. can you tell I am a little excited by that gigantic run on sentence?)
We’ll also be checking out Sanjay’s Super Team and interviewing Director Sanjay Patel and Producer Nicole Grindle. It’s always fun interviewing the producers and directors behind Pixar/Disney short films. Even though these movies are short, there is so much passion and inspiration that goes into the films. It’s really inspiring! Sanjay’s Super Team is going to be the featured short film before The Good Dinosaur, so there is more than one reason to make sure to see The Good Dinosaur November 25th.
This trip is also going to be awesome because we will be interviewing voice talent behind Inside Out. If you haven’t seen Inside Out yet, I will just tell you now your mission as a human being has failed. I’m not a mom that does a lot of kids’ movies, but Inside Out was AMAZING! Loved it so much that I almost saw it twice in the theaters. We will also be screening a new short movie called “Riley’s First Date,” and I am sure that is going to be as awesome as the movie! “Riley’s First Date” is going to be on the Inside Out DVD/Blu Ray which is being released on 11/3/15, so you are going to want to make sure to pick that bad boy up.
As if our trip wasn’t awesome enough with a full blown Pixar Studios’ tour, watching amazing film footage and interviewing the creative inspirations behind the films, we will also be headed to Google Headquarters! (Yep, you guessed it, another first for me) We will be screening Miles from Tomorrowland at Google HQ, which is super awesome to me since I went on the Tomorrowland Press Junket earlier this year.
We will also be chatting with peeps at Google about STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and how they plan on getting kids more excited about technology! It’s sure to be an inspiring time!
On our last day in San Francisco, we will have the chance to go to the Walt Disney Museum. This is another first for me, and it’s always fun to see what it was like when Walt was still around. Walt Disney has been such a huge part of so many of my childhood memories, and my parents are still totally obsessed with anything and everything Disney, that this trip wouldn’t be complete with learning more about the man that started it all.
Four days, tons of interviews, balmy San Francisco weather, and 25 epically awesome bloggers: that’s what it’s all about during The Good Dinosaur event. Make sure to follow me on this fun trip on Instagram and Twitter! I will be live tweeting and sharing photos using hashtags #gooddinoevent , #insideoutbloggers , #milesevent , and #waltagram. If that’s too much for you, you can see all the fun at #gooddinoevent.
Well, I’m off to pack my bags, and dream of California. Hope you all have a great weekend and follow along on this fun trip!
