Halloween is one of my family’s favorite times of the year. That’s why I am always on the look out for easy Halloween decorations. One thing I had never thought about decorating with was candy corn. (I thought it was only for eating, right?!) We’ve used jellybeans for Easter decorations, but for some reason it never occurred to me to use Halloween candy! Maybe it’s because it never lasts that long in our house.
Starburst Candy Corn is a new candy out this year, and since I was already getting some for my youngest daughter Bayla, I figured that I would see what kind of neat decorations or creations I could make with them.To get some ideas, we took a look Tori Spelling’s Tasty Tips for Entertaining. It blew my mind how many awesome things you can make from candy corn! Tori turned these yummy treats into some really awesome eats and adorable Halloween decorations.
With her guide in hand, I decided to craft our own Halloween decorations using Starburst Candy Corn. The most challenging part of it was to keep Bayla from eating them!
My project was a Starburst Candy Corn candle to put on my entry table.. It looks adorable with any fall or Halloween decor, plus it was super easy to make (once I got the kids off of the candy) Here’s what you need:
Supplies
- Starburst Candy Corn
- Small Pillar Candle from the Dollar Store
Directions
- Starting with which ever color you would like, make a row of candy corn around the bottom alternating directions (first piece point up, second piece point down)
- Glue to the candle with low temperature hot glue. (Warning press gently when placing on the candle to prevent candy from breaking)
- Continue place candy corn all the way around the candle until completely covered.
- At the top, place a candy corn every other space point up.

I am loving what everyone did with the candy corn! Those don’t fall off when the candle heats up? If they don’t, I’m so gonna do it!

Nice Halloween decorating idea! That’s a nice project using starburst candy corn. Do they melt along with melting candle?
Ashley Sears says
Kaisy, I didn’t have any problem with them melting. I think the key is to have a candle that is at least 4 inches across, that way the flame is a little further away from the candy :). You could also leave the top row off, which would prevent it from melting as well.

I didn’t even KNOW there was such a thing as Starburst candy corn! That candle is so pretty!
Ashley Sears says
Me neither until I made these! Thanks, the candle was a lot of fun to make if I could just keep the kids off of it
