We have such a short growing season here in Minnesota, that during the summer months I eat my weight in fruits! That’s why we always have this fresh fruit salad recipe stocked in our fridge. It’s super easy to make, and you can change up the fruits that are in it to put some of your favorite fruits.
There is a secret ingredient in this salad. I love using quality essential oils in my fruit salad to give it a little extra punch. Sometimes we use grapefruit essential oil, other times we like to use Young Living Citrus Fresh essential oils in the salad. It helps keep the apples from turning plus gives this fresh fruit salad a little extra punch.
When I say that we keep this in our house every day, I mean it. I just bought a whole large watermelon at Target the other day. The kids were so excited for fruit salad that they cut up the whole watermelon themselves. They made this great fruit salad, and were sweet enough to grab me a bowl for breakfast the next day. That was my ONLY bowl that I got. They gobbled it up in less than two days. That salad must’ve had 10 pounds of fruit in it. YIKES! This is going to be an expensive summer. At least they are eating fruit. There could be worse things that they devour.
We are excited to be heading back to the berry farm this year, and I just found this kick ass blueberry you pick farm that doesn’t use pesticides so you know my fruit salads this year are going to have lots of strawberries and blueberries in them this year. Last year, we picked natural strawberries and made this awesome homemade strawberry jam (you can find the strawberry jam recipe here)
Ok, enough chit chat now onto this recipe. It’s crazy easy, and REALLY good. Hopefully your kids won’t devour it quite as fast as mine did, but they will definitely like it.

I actually just went to the store yesterday and bought a bunch of fruit because we haven’t had it in the house and I NEED my fruit! I wish I could have gotten a lot more but I’m sure I can get more eventually. Fresh fruit salad is one of my all time FAVS but I never would have thought to add honey to it! I gotta give that a try next time 🙂
