Making homemade marinara sauce in a crockpot is literally one of the easiest things to do. The best thing about this recipe is that you can use whole fresh tomatoes or used whole peeled tomatoes from the can. Depending on the season, and how much time I have usually determines which way we go, but I have done both.
Additionally you can cook this marinara sauce in a crock pot or if you need it faster you can also just bring it to a boil in a regular stock pot as well. Just adjust the cooking time to accommodate the higher heat.
My family enjoys this marinara in our baked ziti, chicken parmigiana, spaghetti, and even to dip our breadsticks into. That’s why I like to make a big batch and then use it for a few meals that week or freeze it to use it in a later week. (Just remember to write the date and what’s in it!)
As you guys know, I am all about having kids in the kitchen. This recipe is another one that you can easily get your kids involved with. My youngest daughter loves helping me chop up the garlic. It’s a great time to teach her how to use a knife properly and then she has a tasty sauce to enjoy when she’s done helping.
Our family loves this recipe so much that we wanted to share it with you! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do
