Peppermint Sugar Scrub Tingly From Your Head to Your Toes
You know you are excited! First, I shared my delicious chocolate peppermint body scrub and now you get this peppermint sugar scrub which you can pamper your feet with or live on the wild side and indulge your whole body!
Why Make Your Own Sugar Scrub?
One of the reasons that I like to make my own exfoliating foot scrubs are because…..
I AM CHEAP and EASY, YO!
Seriously. It takes pennies on the dollar to make your own homemade sugar scrubs. Plus, you can whip them up in less than five minutes flat.
There’s also something awesome about the scent of peppermint essential oil dancing around my kitchen.
When I started taking better care of myself, I found it was little things like this that brought a little happy dance to my heart that really made my life rock.
Maybe this peppermint sugar scrub makes you happy dance, or maybe like your peppermint in the form of a good cocktail. Whatever the case may be, just make sure you find something that makes you dance a little jig.
How to Make Your Own Sugar Scrub
This homemade foot scrub is one you can also use salt or sugar, but my personal preference is to use a really good granulated sugar.
What your sugar scrub to rock socks? Follow these tips:
- Granulated Sugar: Use a good granulated sugar like Sugar in the Raw . It has more grit and exfoliating power.
- Metal Only: Because you are working with essential oils, you will want to only use metal tools. Other tools will absorb the essential oils and your scrub won’t smell as awesome.
- Quality Carrier Oil: Not all oils are created equal. Make sure to buy a quality oil that won’t go rancid before you get to use all your scrub. Here are some of our favorite carrier oils:
- Grapeseed Oil: Loaded with the awesome Vitamin E oils!
- Apricot Oil: Kicking it with the super powers of Vitamin A and Vitamin E.
- Sweet Almond Oil: Smells delicious, will make your skin silky smooth!
It’s an awesome exfoliating scrub to tell those dead skin cells to get the hell outta here!
What’s a Sugar Scrub Good For?
The sugar helps get rid of the dead skin you find on your feet after your toes have been in winter boots all winter long. It’s also a great scrub to use when you are wearing flip flops all summer long.
This Georgia gal is in sandals or bare feet once it hits 45 degrees here in Minnesota. That’s why I make sure to take care of my feet all year because who wants to look at dry, nasty feet.
The oil in this scrub helps put the moisture back in your feet and body.
That’s why it’s best to use it after a nice long bath.
Soak your skin for a while, and use it to exfoliate by rubbing it around. Lastly, let it sit on the skin for a few minutes before rinsing it off.
Just be careful because your feet will be slippery!
